Blue Shield of California opens new Lodi service center
Blue Shield of California, a health insurance provider, opened its new service center Oct. 27, 2008 in the Reynolds Ranch development in southeast Lodi. Blue Shield Vice President Bob Novelli, right, thanked City officials for their work to keep Blue Shield in Lodi. Blue Shield had considered moving its Lodi operations to another community before deciding to remain in Lodi. Roughly 80 employees moved into the new service center on its first day. The building is the first in Lodi certified for environmentally friendly features. About 900 workers now occupy the buildings.
