Volunteers
allow precious monies to be used where most needed. The
estimated dollar value of volunteer time in California is $24.18 per
hour for 2010.
What do Library Volunteers do?
- Literacy – teaching people to read & write
- Computers – one-on-one tutoring, teach computer classes
- Homework Help Center – helping K-8 students with their homework
- General – assisting with shelving, programs, and other general tasks
- Teen Advisory Council (TAC) – assist with library services to teens
Volunteering is giving back to our community. Volunteering at the
Lodi public Library serves Lodi. It is also fun, enriching, and
rewarding. Develop new skills and talents, and
make a difference.
How do I volunteer?
If you wish to volunteer, please fill out an application telling us about yourself and your interests.
Most volunteers at the Lodi Public Library must be fingerprinted. You will be given a form and contact information to help you set up your appointment with the Lodi Police Department. Fingerprinting is free.

Volunteers of the Year
Nominations for the 2010 Bob Hildreth Library Volunteer of the Year Award are being sought. Established in 2001 by the trustees in memory of Friends president Bob Hildreth, the award is designed to honor an outstanding individual volunteer who has made a significant contribution in service to Lodi Public Library and its programs.
