Per weather services, unseasonably hot weather is predicted to hit Lodi area from Thursday through Sunday. This unseasonably hot weather is catching the City of Lodi water system with some water wells out of service. There are four water wells that are out of service due to emergency repair needs; two of the wells' motors failed and are being repaired, and two additional wells are out of service while doing unexpected repair work on the treatment tanks that hold carbon for removal of DBCP. It is expected that the remaining 20 water wells may all be needed during the peak water use hours this week.
The City is asking that during the upcoming unseasonably hot weather predicted to go through this weekend, that water use be curtailed. This is especially important during the peak use hours of 6 am - 9 am, and 7 pm - 10 pm every day. When possible, please perform water-using activities, such as landscape watering, laundry, showering, etc., during non-peak hours.
See the City of Lodi web site for a summary of the City of Lodi's water conservation regulations at http://www.lodi.gov/public_works/water_conservation.html.
