Lodi residents are now receiving door-hangers, notifying them that City representatives will be returning to their properties to check their water service connections for future water meter installations.
The inspection will consist of locating the water service line and type of connection to the City water main pipeline. Many backyard services do not need inspecting because they will be relocated to the front yard as part of the five-year construction project beginning in 2011.
City crews, working in two-person teams, will identify existing connections, diagram or photograph the location, surrounding features and the potential location of a new water service connection and meter box.
Crews will be wearing white shirts with the water meter program logo pictured here and picture identification. Residents with questions may call Tom Dugan, the Water Meter Program Administrator, at (209) 333-6800, ext. 2659, or the Lodi Public Works Department at (209) 333-6706.
Those neighborhoods scheduled to receive meters in 2011 will be the first inspected. City crew members will perform their entire task outdoors and will not ask to enter the home to check the resident's water service. Inspections for those homes scheduled for a meter installation will last until March 2011. |
