City of Lodi firefighters will be wearing pink uniform T-shirts throughout the month of October to highlight their efforts to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Community members can help by purchasing pink T-shirts with the Lodi Fire Department logo, available for sale between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at each Lodi fire station, as well as the Fire Department’s administration at 25 E. Pine St. T-shirts are $12, with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The BCRF spends more than 90 cents from each donated dollar on research and awareness programs.
Station locations are 210 W. Elm St., 705 E. Lodi Ave., 2141 S. Ham Lane and 180 N. Lower Sacramento Road.
Firefighters also will be selling T-shirts at the Lodi Street Faire on Oct. 2, and are participating with Chili’s Grill & Bar, 2745 W. Kettleman Lane, for a fund-raiser at the restaurant on Oct. 19 and Oct. 26. Servers will wear pink T-shirts to bring awareness to the fund drive, and firefighters will join them by selling T-shirts and collecting donations.
On Oct. 5, the Lodi City Council is scheduled to issue a proclamation to the Lodi Fire Department for its fund-raising efforts and recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the City of Lodi.
